The UN removes cannabis from its strictest schedule

On the advice of the World Health Organization, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs voted 27 to 25 to take cannabis and its resin out of Schedule IV of the Single Convention, the category for drugs with little or no medical value. They stay in Schedule I, so the duty to prohibit non-medical use did not change.
