Under the drug abuse act hemp growers could keep only the seed, for oil, and had to destroy the rest of the plant, although its THC was below the European limit of 0.2%. After a Croatian member of the European Parliament obtained a reply from the Commission, the health ministry said it was preparing an amendment to allow hemp for building, textiles, paper and other industries. The change came into force in April 2019.[1]
