Police reported Huanito Luksetić, from a village near Rijeka, for growing eleven cannabis plants and possessing 15 kilograms of marijuana. He said he had made oil from it to ease his illness because he could not afford to buy it. In November 2017 the Rijeka court sentenced him to two years in prison, finding the amount too large for personal use, and in January 2019 the Osijek County Court upheld the sentence. His lawyer called it a death sentence in effect.[1][2]
