The head of the national anti-drug office said police had broken up four trafficking cells in the first half of 2023, opened 101 cases against 156 suspects and seized about 12.0 kg of hashish and 7.1 kg of cannabis resin. He said the force had infiltrated eight gangs in 2022 and that the government was preparing a new drug law to cover new substances and tougher penalties. The figures are police totals for all drugs, not cannabis alone, and cover only cases the office handled.[1]
