Mauritania's president tells the UN cannabis resin crosses his country eastward

In April 2015, President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz highlighted, in material for a report on Western Sahara submitted to the United Nations Security Council, that a considerable quantity of cannabis resin moves from Morocco to eastern Africa through Mauritania.[1] When journalists elaborated on the claim, a diplomatic row followed and the chief adviser in the Algerian embassy in Nouakchott was expelled over the alleged lies.[1]
