After a man handed hashish to police in Bishkek on 3 September 2024, investigators traced a house in Bash-Kara-Suu, Alamedin district, where they detained a 37-year-old man and woman. A search found 1,150 packets of cannabis straw weighing 26.907 kg in total, which the man said were sold at 2,000 som each, about 2.5 million som. The case was opened under the supply article of the Criminal Code.[1]
