Prosecutors announced on 15 October 2024 that raids in Hsinchu in May had found 5,659 cannabis plants and 1,666 seeds across two indoor farms, with a street value estimated at more than NT$20 billion. Police said the farms belonged to the same group and charged 11 people, including an alleged organised-crime figure. It was the largest cannabis cultivation case by plant count in Taiwan's history.[1]
