An Ontario court rules the ban unconstitutional without a medical exemption
In R v. Parker the Ontario Court of Appeal held that prohibiting possession with no workable exception for patients violated the Charter, and gave Parliament a year to fix it. The medical access regulations of 2001 were the result.
