The High Criminal Court in November 2025 rejected a challenge to a life sentence for a man convicted in a network that brought about 350 kg of hashish into Bahrain by sea between 2021 and 2023. Six other defendants, including a woman, were named in the case; the court treated the challenge to an in-absentia judgment as having no legal basis. The network received consignments at sea and distributed them locally.[1]
