Decree-Law 30/2025, in force from 22 August 2025, replaced article 51 of the Traffic Law: driving after consuming drugs, or while their effect impairs control, carries two months to a year in prison and a BHD1,000–2,000 fine, or either. If the driving causes a crime or traffic violation, the penalty rises to four months to two years and BHD2,000–4,000; a repeat within a year doubles it, and the court may suspend the licence for up to a year. The offence is still based on impairment, not a set THC level.[1][2]
