Gyeongbuk province began building a GMP facility in the Andong hemp zone to make pharmaceutical-grade CBD from locally grown hemp, due by 2027. The province said the plant was needed to certify and export hemp-derived active ingredients; domestic medical cannabis production still required a law change. The facility was part of the zone's plan to move from raw hemp to medicine.[1]
