South Africa signs the Cannabis for Private Purposes Act
The president signed the law Parliament wrote in response to the 2018 court ruling. It removes cannabis from the drugs act and provides for old convictions to be expunged, but it has not been brought into force: regulations setting the limits are still in draft.
