The Misuse of Drugs Amendment Act 1982 came into force on 13 January 1983. It amended the Schedule 3 definition of cannabis plant and added section 29B, which requires the prosecution to prove that a cannabis preparation contains THC and lets a jury decide by eye whether the material is recognisably plant. The boundary mattered because plant and seed are Class C, while hashish and oil are Class B with a higher maximum for supply.[1]
