Attorney General Directive 1/2015 kept small possession cases at Parish Hall level but raised the amount that could end in a written caution to 15 grams of herbal cannabis or resin for a first offence.[1][2] It replaced the 1998 guidance, under which the limit had been 7 grams and the caution depended on attending a Drug Awareness Course.[1] Possession remained a Class B crime; only the handling of small first cases widened.[2]
