Death penalty 🇮🇩 Indonesia

Indonesia's Constitutional Court upholds capital punishment under the narcotics law

In cases 2-3/PUU-V/2007, the Constitutional Court rejected Indonesian applicants' constitutional challenge to death-penalty provisions of the 1997 Narcotics Law. Foreign applicants' petitions were inadmissible for lack of standing. The judgment preserved existing capital sanctions within the broader drug-control framework; it did not introduce a new cannabis penalty or concern cannabis alone.[1]
