Indonesia reorganises its national and regional narcotics boards

Presidential Regulation 83/2007 replaced the 2002 decree governing the National Narcotics Board. It set out separate national, provincial and district or city organisations, their executive staff, task forces, reporting and funding. Provincial boards answered to governors and district or city boards to regents or mayors, with national coordination through BNN. Regional boards had already been authorised in 2002; this was a more detailed organisational framework, not a new cannabis offence or the first regional enforcement presence. It took effect when signed on 23 July 2007.[1]
