Legislative Decree 982 revised Article 299 while retaining non-punishable possession for one's own immediate use of up to 8 g of marijuana or 2 g of its derivatives. It also retained the exclusion for possession of two or more types of drugs and added an ecstasy threshold. The cannabis quantities were not newly reduced by this amendment. The decree was published on 22 July and took effect the following day under the constitutional commencement rule.[1][2]
