After fighting among motorcycle gangs in the early 1980s, the Bullshit Motorcycle Club held sole control of the trade by 1984. It was cleared from the area in 1987, after a dismembered body was found in a bicycle shop. In 1989 the Danish parliament gave the freetown a legal footing.[1]
