Denmark's replacement narcotics order retains cannabis in its strictest list

Order 559 replaced the 1981 narcotics order. List A defined cannabis as the above-ground parts of cannabis plants with resin still present, excluding hemp seeds and isolated hemp fibres. Section 2 prohibited possession, production, trade and import or export of List A substances except under exceptional permission from the health authority. The order continued existing controls rather than introducing Denmark's first cannabis ban. It took effect on publication on 30 November, after signature on 9 November 1984.[1]
