The code, still in force, contains Article 44 on making, buying or keeping small amounts of narcotics without intent to sell; today it carries a fine, community work or up to fifteen days' arrest. A decree of 21 August 1987 amended that article and added Article 106-2 on illegally sowing or growing poppy or hemp.[1]
