Belgium brings drug-driving sentences into its new penalty framework

The revised road-traffic law places the ordinary positive drug-analysis offence at level 1, with a statutory fine of €1,600–16,000 before applicable additional decimes. A court may also impose a driving ban, with the ordinary discretionary range beginning at eight days. The THC screen, evidentiary saliva and plasma thresholds remain separate tests.[1]
