A bestselling book turns "reefer madness" against prohibition

Eric Schlosser called his book on America's black markets Reefer Madness. Its marijuana section follows Mark Young, an Indiana man given life without parole under federal mandatory minimums for a minor role in a marijuana deal, and sets that against the average of about eleven years served for murder. The film's title had become a name for the excesses of the drug law itself.[1][2]
