During the annual Mak-2024 anti-drug operation, militia officers in the city of Bender raided a residential plot and discovered 64 two-metre-tall cannabis plants cultivated alongside dried marijuana. Investigators initiated criminal proceedings under Article 229 of the Criminal Code for large-scale unlawful cultivation, which carries up to two years in prison.[1] The raid formed part of seasonal eradication campaigns targeting domestic growers across the Dniester.[1]
