Debate 🇹🇼 Taiwan

Taiwan plans to strip licences from drug users who never drive

On 3 June 2026 the transport ministry outlined further amendments to its drug-driving rules, including a plan to revoke the driving licence of anyone confirmed to have used a Category 1 or 2 drug even without driving, and to suspend licences for Category 3 or 4 drug use. It also proposed longer licence bans for drug-driving and penalties for adult passengers who knowingly ride with a drug-impaired driver. The ministry said it would send the bill to the Executive Yuan that month; the bill had not been enacted.[1]
