The commander of Syria's western border region said his forces had found numerous hashish farms, warehouses and processing and packing workshops during a sweep of villages along the Lebanese border. He said the area had been the economic artery of armed smuggling gangs and that the former regime had turned the border into a drug corridor. The sweep also seized Captagon pills, weapons and presses for printing counterfeit currency.[1]
