A Swiss committee drafts a law to legalise cannabis
The National Council's health committee adopted a preliminary draft of a Cannabis Products Act that would let adults grow, buy, possess and use cannabis under strict limits on commerce. Consultation closed on 1 December 2025; on 7 May 2026 the committee sent the draft back to its subcommittee for revision. It is not expected to take effect before 2029.
