Police seize 400 kg of cannabis trafficked from DR Congo

Police intercepted a car on the Rubavu–Nyabihu road carrying 320 kg of cannabis and a motorcycle in Rubavu carrying 80 kg, after residents tipped them off. The drivers escaped, but police said they had identified the traffickers. Police said the drugs came from DR Congo and marked Rubavu and Kirehe as major cannabis trafficking routes; joint Rwanda–Tanzania operations were destroying cannabis farms along the Kagera.[1]
