Papua New Guinea closes the locally grown marijuana loophole
A prosecution had exposed that people could possess or smoke locally grown marijuana despite the territory's drug controls. The House of Assembly adopted the Dangerous Drugs (Possession) Act, bringing possession, conveyance and cannabis plants within an offence carrying three months to two years in prison.
