Tightening 🇳🇬 Nigeria

Nigeria raises cannabis cultivation’s prison term to at least 21 years

The military government raised the Indian Hemp Act’s prison term for cultivation and import or sale from at least ten to at least 21 years; smoking or possession brought at least four years without a fine option.[1] The decree was made on 14 September 1984, published on 20 September, and declared effective from 31 December 1983.[1] It amended the prison wording introduced by the 1975 removal of the cultivation death sentence.[1][2]
