Death penalty 🇳🇬 Nigeria

Nigeria's second military government adds death for drug trafficking

During Nigeria's second military government the rulers issued Decree 20, which made the death penalty available for drug trafficking, and amended the Indian Hemp Decree to increase penalties and jail terms. The death penalty was used sparingly, was aimed at cocaine, and was removed in 1985. Cannabis use became popular among young Nigerians between 1980 and 1990.[1]
