Nepali lawmakers ask for cannabis to be legalised
A ruling-party MP and 47 other lawmakers filed a motion in parliament seeking legalisation. A bill followed in 2021, and in May 2024 the finance minister announced plans to allow medicinal cannabis; none has become law.
