Debate 🇲🇦 Morocco

Moroccan parties draft a law to grow cannabis for medicine

By October 2014 the Party of Authenticity and Modernity and Istiqlal had put a draft law before both houses that would keep consumption illegal but bring all growing under a state agency. The agency would supply medicines and industrial products, with factories in the Rif. The Islamist-led government and the palace stayed silent, and it was not clear the text would be debated. Farmers told reporters they feared legalisation would push down the price of their crop.[1]
