Laos opens a licensed route for low-THC hemp medicines

Companies could seek approval to grow, process and sell low-THC hemp under a health ministry decision issued on 28 December 2022.[1][2] The decision specified a thirty-day transition after signing.[1] Its permissions covered prescribed dried hemp flower and low-THC medicines, alongside registered consumer products; the narcotics law and Penal Code still awaited alignment.[2]
