Hemp 🇰🇬 Kyrgyzstan

Wartime Kyrgyzstan harvests hemp seed

A 1944 photograph in the Russian state film and photo archive shows hemp seed being threshed at the Dzhangi-Dzher state farm in Frunzenskaya oblast; other archive photographs from 1949 show hemp harvested at the Nizhnechuysky state farm in the Chuy valley. Hemp remained a collective-farm fibre and seed crop while the 1935 restriction on Indian hemp applied to drug-type crops.[1][2]
