Tightening 🇧🇾 Belarus

Belarus replaces the Soviet-era code with its new criminal code

Index score

138

−5 points

The replacement Criminal Code took effect on 1 January 2001 and repealed the 1960 code with its separate repeat-small-possession offence. Article 328 covers drug acquisition and possession without intent to supply without that prior-administrative-penalty condition. Personal possession therefore remained within the criminal system rather than a general first-case administrative allowance.[1][2]
