Customs find 98 kg of marijuana hidden under lettuce

At the South Astara customs post on the Iranian border, officers searching a lorry bound for Russia found 97.685 kg of marijuana in 90 packages under a load of fresh lettuce. The State Customs Committee said the vehicle was carrying the cargo in transit through Azerbaijan and that an investigation had begun. At 50 kg or more the amount is 'especially large' under the 2005 thresholds law, so a trafficking conviction could bring eight to fifteen years.[1]
