A drone from Iran brings marijuana over the Araz

Border guards in the Horadiz sector intercepted an unmanned aerial device flying from Iran and found 19.7 kg of marijuana and 1,500 methadone tablets, the State Border Service reported. It was one of a series of drone-borne drug shipments along the Araz river border in 2024 and 2025, alongside marijuana hidden in lorries and boats. The cases show that the southern route carries cannabis as well as heroin and methamphetamine.[1]
