Aceh's Islamic criminal code sets 40 lashes for alcohol, not cannabis

Aceh adopted Qanun 6/2014 on Jinayat, which defines khamar as an intoxicating drink containing at least 2% alcohol and sets 40 lashes for drinking it, with up to 60 lashes, a 600-gram gold fine or 60 months in prison for making, importing or selling it. The qanun took effect a year later. Its text creates no cannabis offence, leaving cannabis to the national narcotics law.[1]
