Police in Ochamchira stopped a 31-year-old local man in July 2025 and found a packet of cannabis on him. He led officers to a plot in the forest near Elyr where he had grown 15 South Krasnodar cannabis plants. A criminal case was opened and he was placed under house arrest. The case shows that a small outdoor plot is prosecuted as a crime, not treated as a minor infraction.[1]
