Uzbekistan says drug crime doubled in five years

The director of the National Centre for Drug Control said drug offences had doubled between 2019 and 2024, drug seizures rose 8.5 times and synthetic-drug seizures 400 times. He warned that 'pharmacy drug addiction' was spreading among young people and called for regional cooperation. The figures cover all drugs, not cannabis alone.[1][2]
