Law 7574 amended Article 48 of the Highway Traffic Law. A driver found to have taken a narcotic or stimulant substance now pays 150,000 lira and loses the licence; getting a new one requires five years, paid fines, a psycho-technical assessment, a health report, driving lessons and exams. Refusing a test brings the same fine and a five-year withdrawal, and the Penal Code applies as well. The law sets no THC threshold.[1]
