Debate 🇹🇳 Tunisia

Tunisia's justice ministry writes a full replacement for Law 52

In April 2015 the justice ministry said it had finished a draft to replace the 1992 law. It would drop the mandatory minimum for use, cap the sentence at five years and a 1,000-dinar fine, allow community work for sentences under a year, and tighten urine-test procedures. Civil society criticised the closed drafting; the draft was not the text parliament adopted in 2017, which was much narrower.[1]
