Debate 🇱🇰 Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka opens its cannabis export scheme to local investors

In November 2025 the government said the next phase of its medicinal-cannabis project would be open to local investors, with agreements to be signed later that year and cultivation expected in 2026. Some investors were cleared to export leaves, flowers and other plant parts. The scheme remained export-only and did not legalise domestic use.[1]
