People convicted of possessing large quantities for themselves would face a maximum of five years instead of ten under a bill submitted by the Supreme Court. For especially large quantities the proposed maximum is ten instead of fifteen years, and both minimum sentences would be removed. The proposal follows the court’s 2025 initiative and still requires legislation.[1]
