Tightening 🇶🇦 Qatar

Qatar makes death or life the sentence for drug trafficking

Law 7 of 1998 replaced the 1987 penalties for trafficking. Importing, producing or cultivating for trade, which had brought 10 to 20 years, now brought death or life imprisonment and a fine of QR300,000 to QR500,000; a similar offence within five years of serving the sentence brought death. Selling or possessing for trade brought 10 to 20 years and QR200,000 to QR400,000, with life imprisonment on a repeat, and the law barred parole for both offences.[1][2]
