The Philippines makes six years the minimum for marijuana possession
Batas Pambansa 179 raised the sentence for possessing or using any amount of marijuana from six months and one day–six years to six years and one day–12 years. It also extended the definition to every part of the plant and strengthened testing and confiscation rules.
