The smuggler who ran Nepal's hashish route to Bihar is killed

Kamadev Singh, a Bihar smuggler whom Indian reporters later called the Pablo Escobar of Bihar, controlled the Nepal-India route for cannabis and other contraband from the late 1960s until his death. Indian police killed him in 1980. The trade did not end with him: Nepali police and former narcotics officers say the same family and village networks carried it on, and Nepali cannabis and charas continued to move through Bihar to Delhi and overseas markets.[1]
