The Federated States adopted the former Trust Territory code as their own. Possessing an ounce of marijuana or less was punishable by a fine of up to $50, an ounce to a kilo by up to three months, and more than a kilo by up to a year, or up to five years when treated as trafficking. Chuuk state had no drug law of its own and used the national code.[1][2]
