Mexico raises trafficking sentences and stops prosecuting personal amounts

A reform of the Federal Penal Code set 10 to 25 years for producing, transporting, trading and supplying drugs, and lowered the penalty for sowing, growing and harvesting. A person who was not dependent and carried an amount presumably meant for personal use was not prosecuted; a dependent person in the same position received no penalty, and dependent defendants were subject to treatment.[1]
