National Guard troops watching a remote camera near Naco, Arizona, saw people beside the border fence on the Mexican side launching packages over it with an elastic-powered catapult brought in on a trailer. Alerted by the US Border Patrol, Mexican authorities broke up the operation and seized the catapult, an SUV and 45 pounds of marijuana; the smugglers escaped. A Border Patrol spokesman said he had never seen anything like it.[1]
